Michael C. Lambert, Ph.D.


Dr. Lambert is a psychologist specializing in assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. He earned his Master's and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master's degree in Clinical Social Work at Bryn Mawr College. Dr. Lambert holds a joint appointment with 3-C Family Services' sister company, 3-C Institute for Social Development, where he serves as a Senior Researcher responsible for directing federally funded research projects. As a scientist-practitioner, Dr. Lambert has researched and is published in multiple areas of the behavioral sciences, including behavioral and emotional functioning in children, adolescents and families nationally and internationally. He has published works on psychological assessment of different demographic groups across nations within Europe, North America and the Caribbean. Dr. Lambert has also published work on the behavioral and emotional functioning of low birth weight children within and across multiple nations. He has worked in public and private clinical settings, including his own private practice and as a forensic psychology consultant. Besides his current adjunct professorship in three research and clinical institutions, Dr. Lambert has trained dozens of doctoral level clinical psychologists and clinical researchers in multiple institutions in his previous academic appointments as a professor. He has also presented his work at multiple national and international professional conferences within nations such as Australia, Great Britain, Malaysia and Turkey. His clinical expertise includes the treatment of depression, anxiety, severe psychological disorders such as bipolar disorder and schizophrenia in children, adolescents and adults. He also specializes in intervention with couples who have a variety of relationship-related issues and in family therapy for distressed families.
